Vertical Machining, also known as milling, relies on rotary cutters to remove metal from a workpiece. Vertical machining occurs on a vertical machining center (VMC), which employs a spindle with a vertical orientation. With a vertically oriented spindle, tools stick straight down from the tool holder, and often cut across the top of a workpiece.
With the latest verson in CNC milling machines, we offer customers high precision, complex parts with exceptional throughput and short leadtimes. Our equipment ranges from simple 3-axis vertical machining centers to sophisticated 5-axis machining centres. We can handle parts envelope in a wide range of materials from aluminum to high nickel alloys.
4-Axis CNC Milling Machines
FORTUNE PACIFIC 4 axis CNC milling machines are based on the same models from that make up the 3 axis range with the addition of a rotary table to enable 4 axis machining. As with all FORTUNE PACIFIC milling centres, the user has choice between Siemens or Heidenhain controls. Equipment options include automatic loading via pallet changer for significantly cut set-up times. Supplied with Siemens machine controls.
Why are 4-axis CNC machining centers useful?
Having a CNC machining centers with these extra axes presents many advantages. Since they can cut the workpiece from different angles, 4-axis CNC machining centers can complete a part in a shorter timeframe, with less of a need for multiple set-ups. This has the knock-on benefit of eliminating incorrect alignment - a risk every time the workpiece has to be manually reoriented for a new set-up.
